The award-winning Belgian filmmaker Kristof Bilsen (b. 1979) comes to Helsinki to present his new film MOTHER. A graduate of the National Film and Television School in England, Bilsen visited Finland also with his 2014 film Elephant’s Dream. In addition to filmmaking, Bilsen also teaches producing and storytelling. MOTHER is a film about a Thai woman named Pomm, who is tasked with caring for the elderly relatives of Europeans suffering from dementia. At the same time Pomm’s own children have to do without the care and support of their mother, who works far away.
Kristof Bilsen is in Helsinki from January 28 to January 30.
