Director and media artist Nuno Escudeiro (b. 1986) comes to DocPoint to present his film THE VALLEY, a compelling look at how society deals with the refugee crisis in Europe. Escudeiro, born in Portugal, has studied in Finland and Italy, where he lived near the border regionss and came in touch with people, who secretly help refugees. THE VALLEY tells the story of a group of citizens in Roya and Durance Valleys, who very openly help people crossing the border by commiting acts of civil disobedience. The film has been awarded the Emerging International filmmaker award upon its premiere at Hotdocs Toronto.
