Festival tasks:

Theatre Staff – are the staff that work at cinemas. They check tickets, keep the theatre tidy and make sure everything runs smoothly. It’s all about teamwork so you do things together as a team.

Ticket Sales – Is customer service your cup of tea? Would you like a more responsible tasks? If the answer is yes, then ticket sales is for you. You need to be able to handle stressful situations as the box offices might get busy. Ticket sales start a week before the festival. You are required to do most shifts by yourself. Finnish language skills are required. Let us know if you have a knowledge of Eventio, the ticket sale system.
Please note: members of the ticket sales team will receive five extra tickets for their efforts.

Info – The festival info is located at Bio Rex. There we serve our accredited guests along with other festival visitors. Customer service attitude and Finnish language skills are required.

Distribution team – We need help in spreading the word about the festival around the city. We will be distributing festival papers, programmes as well as posters around the city between 2.–27.1.2020, and all the shifts can be done in pairs (more fun that way!). The shifts are not set in stone so if your schedule is free-er during other times than what’s on the list, just inform me and we can figure it out. Distribution is done around the city centre by walking. Outer city areas are done by car by pairing a driver and a distributor.

Driver – Drivers need to feel comfortable driving in the city as well as helpful and polite to our festival guests. Drivers also help out with the distribution of the festival materials. If you’re a great driver with a valid driving licence, this is the team for you.

Guest host – International filmmakers are invited to DocPoint every year. It’s your job to host them and make their visit to Helsinki wonderful.

Runner – We need all sorts of people at various tasks, if you happen to have special abilities such as: technical guru, graphic designer wizard, photoshop pro’s, we NEED YOU. Just write in the box if you happen to have a special talent, which you’d be happy to share with us.

Decoration team – If you have an eye for beautiful things, this position is for you. The decoration team make our venues look gorgeous and festive.
Hox! The decoration team is a small team. It only takes one shift to decorate the theatres, therefore please check other interesting roles on top of the decoration team.

Photographer/Videographer – DocPoint needs photographers to capture the festival buzz and our guests during the festival week. We would appreciate it if you’d be willing to offer your talent! All the photographers and videographers need their own gear. Please add a link to your online portfolio.
Please note: photographers and videographers will receive extra tickets for their efforts.

Social media team – Is social media your thing? Then we need you to make our social channels look the very best during the festival! Please include a link to your Instagram or Twitter profile in your application.

General festival info will be held to all volunteers a week or two before the festival. In addition, each team will have a short orientation before the festival (or at the beginning of the first shifts).
